He's been addicted to all things swing since 2004. He has studied Lindy Hop, Balboa, Tap, and Solo Jazz dance under masters from the original swing era and worked with world class contemporary swing dancers.
He has had success both locally and internationally as a competitor and coach placing in many contests. He has also been involved in more than 100 productions as a performer, producer, choreographer, and technician.
He is also the Artistic Director at The Syncopation Foundation, and frequently teaches swing dance all over the world.
Ben brings all his experience to his DJ sets, thought out and designed so that you won't be able to stop dancing!
Since 2016, Jona Venzor has been exploring the vast world of swing dance, from Lindy Hop to Balboa. As a switch dancer, they bring a vibrant energy to every event, whether it’s on the social floor or in competition.
Behind the DJ booth, Jona curates sets that inspire connection and joy, creating a high-energy love story between dancers.
Proudly queer and trans, Jona’s identity infuses their dancing, DJing, and artistic approach with authenticity and passion, shaping the way they bring people together in the swing world. They see themselves as a mosaic of every human they’ve ever loved—bringing all those influences and connections to the dance floor in everything they do.
Jony fell in love with jazz in 2011 when he started dancing. Lindy Hop, Blues, Balboa, it didn’t matter, if it was jazz, he wanted it.
His first love was Cats And The Fiddle, but as he matured (well, let’s be honest, he’s not that mature) his love moved to the sounds of Illinois Jacquet and Johnny Hodges.
Jony has DJ’ed from coast to coast with exciting, vernacular jazz ready for you to dance your heart out, this time will be no different.
